The internship is based within Global Finance Operations and Transformation (GFO&T), specifically in the Intra-Group Retrocession (IGR) and External Retrocession team in Zurich. GFO&T is responsible for delivering accurate, consistent and high-quality financial information for Swiss Re's external reporting and internal decision-making, including Group IFRS reporting, statutory financial statements, SST and Solvency II. The IGR and External Retrocession team plays a central role in accounting and reporting of intra-group and external retrocession transactions, with a strong focus on IFRS 17, and drives the transformation of Global Finance towards a simpler, more efficient and forward-looking organization. Apply advanced data analysis and artificial intelligence techniques to support IGR processes and manage external retrocession activities. Maintain and evolve code scripts (e.g., Python) to meet department targets, ensuring robustness, scalability, and alignment with evolving analytical and operational requirements. Validate and analyze produced figures and serve as main point of contact for inquiries on the financial results of internal and external retrocession. Contribute to the seamless quarterly production of financial statements for IGR and external retrocession. Support various initiatives and projects related to the financial reporting landscape. Collaborate with professionals across Finance, IT, and Risk Management departments. Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a bachelor's or master's degree in data analysis, economics, finance or a related quantitative field. Strong data-analytics knowledge, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive actionable insights. Interest in quarterly closing processes and financial reporting. Willingness to acquire necessary system knowledge (SAP, FPSL, LFD) and technical knowledge. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Fluent in English, both written and oral. Nice to have: solid coding knowledge and ability to maintain, debug, and enhance complex codebases (e.g., Python); basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles; basic understanding of IFRS 17. Note: non-EU/EFTA and UK citizens must provide a certificate from a Swiss university confirming that an internship is integral to their course of study.
